Last Consciousness

Well, it seems that today (I haven't gone to sleep yet, so it's still Tues) just was not my day.... I'm sure that everything will be better after I have sleep.

I'm not suggesting the world revolves around me... But I notice that when I have a bad stretch, so do most people I know... And when I'm on top of it all, so are they... It would be a very interesting study, to correlate events in the lives of friends... Not just the shared ones, but all events... Rate them on a bad/good scale... And see if trends shine through... Sort of like a group Biorhythm.

I look forward to tomorrow, where I will solidify my job options and obtain a book from the library I've been wanting to read for over a year.

I wish upon all my friends, whether new or old, net or rl, a very good day tomorrow.

Well, I feel nearly normal, it's been a week, and I'm actually awake at a reasonable time considering when I went to bed. I'm healed!

Hmm, no e-mails from HR people. That is a bit worrying, as I am expecting a few to come in today. Calls, interviews, phone numbers, job details, etc...

RedneckNinja is supposed to drop by today, so hopefully that will get me outta the house and into the outside world for awhile.

Ahh, my book just arrived, I believe... As well as one of the Puzz3D CD-ROMs... So I'll have offline amusement for the morning.

Mission Complete

I finished _Ender's Shadow_ in just around 5 hours. I was thinking of doing some calculations on that, taking the 380 page length of the book, average words per page, etc... But I'll save that for when I'm really bored.

Suffice to say, I enjoyed the work immensely. It is a parallel work to _Ender's Game_ told by the POV of Bean. It is done in exactly the same style as the original book, and weaves a separate tale in and around the original plotlines.

Sadly, it only leaves me wanting for more. I do admire the Preface, which provides a few tibits on the work, as well. It appears as if we'll be treated to more stories in this world-time in the future, and I can honestly say I'm looking forward to it with impatience.

Other than that, missed a few calls, made a few calls.. nothing big. One of the promising companies contacted me via email to set up another interview, since I couldn't talk when the last one was supposed to take place.

With any luck, and not a small amount of work by myself, I'll be gainfully employed and the hell out of this place well within the 30 day deadline.

Anyway, I forgot to eat lunch because I was engrossed in the novel, so I need to remedy that and prepare for the arrival of RedneckNinja.

Well, that was fun...

RedneckNinja was a bit late due to some plumbing problems.... But arrived eventually. We went to Arby's then a pub, just hung out, discussed friends, life, etc... As always his stories had me rolling... The man is a very talented storyteller, no doubt about it. I'm borrowing his Johnny Socko CD's for the evening, and will hopefully be catching up again tomorrow before he heads back south.

Started a Tom Clancy book - _Netforce: Nightwatch_ ... So far, it's ok... I like the occasional modern day action novel, but... It's not my favorite genre.

Also Started Puzz3d: Neuschwanstein... Interesting little program. Too bad it's stuck in a crappy res that makes the pieces hard to see...

Hmm, Discovery has a bit about Chinese martial arts... I'll prolly catch it later. Which reminds me, the theatrical release of _Drunken Master_ is this weekend, must see it on the big screen.
